After an exciting victory against the hated Patriots, the Jets came back for an encore (as Titans) to put a foot to the neck of the now 0-3 Tennessee Titans. Wow.After yet another tough test-Mark Sanchez' first time playing in bad weather, first two turnover game and the first time the defense gave up touchdowns this season, the team clamped down and pulled out a victory that wasn't certain until the very end of the fourth quarter.
Coming in, the Titans had scored 31 points in their last contest and been running all over their opponents while stopping the run. While they were able to effectively shut down Thomas Jones and Leon Washington, they could never get past the Jets Defense, and allowed Mark Sanchez to run in one touchdown and throw for two.
The 4th quarter defense proved why the Jets are 3-0 today, instead of the 1-2 the pundits and "experts" predicted. They confused Kerry Collins with five man packages and disguised blitzes to the tune of 13 incompletions and an INT, in the waning moments of a game they could have tied.Yet another bad end for Tennessee, who even disguised as someone else couldn't get it right in the final minutes. I'm sure they'll turn it around, and I'm really happy they didn't pick yesterday to do it.
Next stop-New Orleans!
