In his first real home game with his new team, Favre overcame a bunch of bad throws and a few more hard hits to his almost-40-year-old body and found that winning touch again. The first five series of the second half: Three punts, Favre's first interception, and a turnover on downs. Adrian Peterson's had 19 carries. still had three timeouts left and were able to force a punt.Vikes got the ball back at their 20 with 89 seconds left. I was not happy with how Childress used the last 3 time outs but hey IT WORKED! This is why we got him. There is no way that Tavaris Jackson or Sage Rosenfels would have made that play.. He should be our starting QB until he doesn't want to be anymore.

The last play began with 12 seconds left, and Favre stepped forward in the pocket and slid to the right and bought time for the receivers to move in position. Instead of throwing a ball up for grabs, he figured he could get close enough to the line of scrimmage to fire a line drive that would be tougher to defend.
The past few years it would have been; wait til next week. Now it's I can't wait for next week. 50 yards on a rope, not bad for an old man. For all of you who mourned the waiver of Wade, thought it was stupid to sign Greg Lewis, look at him now. Looks pretty good in PURPLE, if you ask me. One of the best finishes of all time. Brett Favre couldn't score it on the second to last drive, why? Not dramatic enough. We All LOVE DRAMA :) Better to do it in 80 yards with no time outs.
I need my Vikings Offensive line to step up, they are not playing 100%...any way it goes..SKOL VIKINGS!

You're exactly right; Rosenfels or Jackson couldn't have done it. I told one of my boys that Favre looked SUPER-OLD on that last drive, but he still gets it done. Crazy...
Favre! O'neika!
