The anticipation for the first week of the NFL season had me tripping because I forgot to wash clothes, both of my Packer shirts were dirty and it was too hot for my sweatshirts! I went to my relative Bird’s house (Raider fan and fellow Gridiron Gal Blogger) to watch the games. While they flipped through all the games on NFL Ticket I waited anxiously for 5pm to see my boys in the Green and Gold. Was it a spectacular game with a lot of Sports Center worthy highlights? No. Was I disappointed? No. The Packers victory against the Bears was solid. Our top players in each position had satisfactory performances. The job was done.
QB Aaron Rodgers performance was sort of similar to a Favre performance, with the short bullet passes. Only difference is Rodgers threw one touchdown pass and had NO interceptions. Farve always pissed me off with the interceptions and it seems our Rodgers isn’t as much of a risk taker as #4. I can appreciate that.
RB Ryan Grant performance….solid. He only rushed 61 yards and was gifted a 1 yard touchdown after Corner Tramon Williams beautiful interception catch and run back. (By the way Google Tramon, he is 5’11 inches, 191 lbs of HOTNESS!)
Kicker Mason Crosby gets a C+ for tricking off his second field goal attempt =/
Receivers Greg Jennings and Donald Driver did an excellent job running the routes and being right where Rodgers needed them to be. Just as I was getting upset about us being behind in the final minutes of the fourth quarter, Jennings shoots down field for a 50 yard reception that was as lovely as Christmas morning and gave us the last minute victory. (Ask Bird about the victory Gangster walk dance I did around the Game Room, LOL)Critics and sports bloggers are attributing our win against the Bear’s to QB Jay Cutlery’s four interception passes. To that I say:
1. “Hi Haters”
2. Cutlery cant throw and interception unless there’s a bomb a** Packer there to catch it!
3. The interceptions (all but one, in which Cutlery had a Sherm head moment and threw the ball into a sea of Green and Gold) were due to great pressure by the Packers defense.
All in all, My Packers made me Proud. Great Game Bears!! My condolences to the CHI fans for the Urlacher injury. Urlacher is one of my favorite players and I assure you a dislocated wrist will not keep him away for too long.
NEXT WEEK we take on the Receiver formerly known as Chad Johnson and the CINCINATTI BENGALS! We ready for you Chad and we got a lil cheese head baby over here for you to kiss…..Mr. Ochocinco??? CHILD PLEASE!
