He's probably a Jet fan, and probably thought, like he does every year, that the Jets are going to play well. At least if they don't play well, beat Miami. And then nights like last night happen. It wasn't the kind of game where it was the horrible play of one person that made it so bad. It was the collapse of a defense that gave up 31 points in one game, after averaging 12.5. There was no answer to the wildcat. No stout defense at the goal line. Just touchdown after touchdown. Two from a quarterback starting just his second game (who by the way, looked much better than Chad Pennington ever did) and two from the running team.
On the surface, it was a great game. A battle that went down to the last second that both teams had the opportunity to win. It was a coming out party of sorts for Braylon Edwards, who had been pretty much run out of Cleveland. Even Thomas Jones got into the act, scoring for the first time in what seemed like forever.
Of course, it was not to be, and the game ended with a bitter loss for the second week in a row. The Jets only claim on the AFC east being that they beat the team they are currently tied with in Week 2.This too shall pass, and by Sunday I'm sure I'll feel better. And by Sunday I mean November 1st, when the two teams play again.
Meh.
