Vikes are 5-0 but has three difficult games coming up. Next Sunday at home against Baltimore followed by 2 road games at Pittsburgh and Green Bay before they have their bye. Vikes have taken advantage of the random things that have gone our way. However, whether they'll be lucky in the next game, or over the course of the season, no one can really say. If you look at how many points the Vikes score compared to the offensive yardage gained, we are doing very well compared to most Vikes teams in the past. Also, if you look at the opponents points compared to the yardage they gained against the Vikes, we have come out surprisingly well. The Rams game was a great example, but not the only one this year. Jared Allen Had a TD off of a 52-yard fumble . Kevin Williams 2 QB hurries, a pass breakup, 1 sack, 3 tackles, and 1 tackle for a loss. Favre As a 40-year-old passed for 242 yards and a touchdown. Including a 47-yard completion to Sidney Rice in the 3rd quarter.Adrian Peterson is still low in carries and rushing I’m not counting him out yet. AP rushed for 69 yards and 2 TD’s on 15 carries. Did you see the defender holding on to AP’s face mask…tisk tisk. Nickel back Benny Sapp showed up with his game face on and actually had a very good game 4 tackles, 1 QB hurry and a pass breakup in the end zone. Tyrell Johnson intercepted a pass in the end zone. I’m looking forward to see what Johnson can do in the upcoming weeks. In the past ten years or so, the Vikings have been on the opposite end of this. A good turnover ratio, far better special teams play, and far fewer penalties this year have been major contributors to this improvement in scoring efficiency.

When the Vikings offense is in the Red Zone, they seem to be especially good this year at scoring. And when our defense gets near the goal line, they get especially tough to score on. I wouldn’t care if every team the Vikes played fumbled 1000 times, a fumble, forced or otherwise, still has to be recovered by the DEFENSE in order for it to be a Turnover. I take any opportunity given!
Tight End Visanthe Shiancoe said it best, "We're getting a lot of pats on the back .But 5-0 can turn into 5-11 and we play a lot of good teams coming up."
Until Then..SKOL Vikings
