There’s so much joy in winning but when you defeat your arch nemesis 14 - 31, it’s even sweeter. The Buffalo Bills welcomed the Miami Dolphins to ‘The Ralph’ and to say they were pumped up is an understatement. There’s no love lost between these two teams, especially after the throttling the 'Phins put on us in Week 4.The NFL schedulers know exactly what they’re doing. Normally when Miami comes to town in late Nov. the weather is a factor. Not on Sunday. It was 50 degrees, sunshine and blue skies and I’m sure the Dolphins’ players and coaches were thrilled. But that excitement waned after Fitzpatrick, Owens, and the defense secured a victory for interim head coach Perry Fewell.
The Terrell Owens you witness on Sunday, is the TO we’ve been looking for all season. Owens had 96 yards and one TD. That doesn’t seem like much, but it’s the connection and confidence with Fitzpatrick that gives me hope for the future. After the TD, he flashed that smile and gave us a glimpse of his guns (muscles) as he posed in victory. Yeah baby, yeah!!
What can I say about QB Ryan Fitzpatrick other than keep it up so Trent can stay his butt on the bench. Since replacing Edwards he’s thrown for 905 yards and 4 TDs. On Sunday he threw 246, and this is the 2nd game in which the Bills have scored over 300 yards of offense. Change is not only constant, in the Bills’ case, it’s awesome! The Bills scored 24 points in the 4th quarter! Miami’s QB Chad Henne threw 3 INTs to Yeremiah Bell, Donte Whitner and Byron Scott. The last INT came at a pivotal point in the game, in which the Dolphins were attempting a comeback. Bills’ RB Fred Jackson ran that ball into the end zone and the fat lady began to sing.
This is a short week for the Bills and that’s alright. Winning gets the blood pumping and the juices flowing. I’m expecting a great game and another victory this evening. The Bills are traveling to Toronto in our ‘dome away from home’ to face the NY Jets. We beat them once, and we can do it again!
Let’s Go Buffalo!! LET’S GO!!
