There will be one less team name coming out of the mouths of the NFL pundits and their playoff scenarios. After losing on a last second Tony Gonzalez touchdown catch, the best the Jets can do is hope to play spoiler to the Colts perfect season. In other words Jet fans, this season is pretty much over.
They started out halfway decent. Braylon Edwards actually caught a few passes and Sanchez actually connected with him for a 65 yard touchdown.
The problem? That TD was accompanied by three interceptions and the odd choice to pass rather than utilize the running game on a windy, post snowstorm afternoon at the Meadowlands.
Of course the defense played great, considering time of possession and the team's ineptitude on offense and special teams. You expect to win when you give up only ten points, but when you miss field goals, muff snaps and can't do anything in the red zone, even having one of the best defenses in the league can't help you.
So these next two games the Jets will once again be playing for pride. Sad, a made field goal and they might have still been able to cling to the faintest of playoff hopes.
Sunshine. Moonlight. Good times. Boogie.
