...On the heels of the Titans loss to my favorite team (The Steelers, if you didn't know), I got the pleasure of visiting Nashville, Tennessee. There was a question I continually received up until the day before my visit. Why Tennessee? Well, I can totally understand the inquiry; however, I had the best reason ever to visit the city. My childhood best friend moved to Tennessee about 2 1/2 years ago. Her husband got a good job, it's a rather affordable city, and the calm lifestyle suits them. Now, if you are looking to lose weight, you may want to visit another place because you will eat, and eat, and eat! Tennessee is famous for barbeque, you can find a spot on just about every corner; however, I found the dry rub ribs especially tasty. So, if you get a chance, go on over to Jim 'N Nick Bar-B-Q in Smyrna. If barbeque doesn't soothe your fancy, try their catfish, turnip greens or even wings. No matter what you decide, your taste buds will be happy!
Even though I try not to stereotype, our society has made it rather difficult not to do so. And, coming from the North, I'm not accustom to having those of the lighter hue cook such flavorful, tantalizing food - but, Sweet Tea Diner put a stop to all that. Meatloaf, Gravy, Greens, Fried Chicken, Cornbread and much more. All cooked by lil women that don't look like my grandma. Ha!
Moving right along... When looking for evening entertainment you will be happily surprised with a place called Bentley's in downtown Nashville. Live music all weekend, delicious drinks and eye candy all over the place! Nashville is totally not the country place many may think it is, so broaden your horizons and take a visit. I'm sure you will walk away with a different view, and even a desire to visit again.

I wish I would have know you were in town Yvonne and I would have loved to have met you, even though your Steelers killed my poor Titans! LOL! And I'm glad you got a good impression of Nashville. I tell people all the time! ITS NOT COUNTRY!!!! Well... not all of it! LOL! Next time Try Swetts or Harpers. They are both in the hood but its good Southern food.
I would definitely have loved to visit the hood. I make it a point to do so wherever I go. Some call it crazy, but I know where I'm from. *wink* I will be back next year, and I'll be sure to let ya know!
