The game against Denver, we’ll there’s really not much I can say…. I’ll be glad when the Steelers’ I know, decide to show-up and play football for real!
Dixon, yes he made some mistakes. Comparing the stats of the Denver game, Dennis still did better than Byron, even with 2 interceptions (the last one shouldn’t have counted against Dixon since the receiver had butter fingers and let Denver get a TD). Byron’s rating actually went down after the game while Dixon’s did not. Byron was 0-4 pass attempts. I can’t help but think that Dixon would be playing better if we had not wasted training camp with Byron the entire time. Hines Ward said during a interview after the game, “tonight was the first time he has played with Dennis.” So Mike didn’t even allow Dixon to practice with the premiere receiver during practice, not the day before, or nothing??? Say it ain’t so….
The defense is also looking shady; Troy cannot do everything, besides he’s got commercials to do. Troy had better get his “head and shoulders” into the game not the camera! It’s as if the whole defensive line is waiting for someone else to tackle for them. Not to mention the special teams, oh where do I begin, lets just say Denver’s punt gunners out did ours. Maybe if the special teams blocked, or Logan actually showed off the explosive power he has. Get back to running the ball hard like you used to, and hitting hard the Dick LeBeau way. There are many issues to be work on, a few injured players (James Farrior, Bryant McFadden, Willie Colon, and AndrĂ© Frazier), poor play calling, and no definite QB at the end of preseason to say the least.
