Saved by the Internet….My Steelers were lost, until the World Wide Web helped me find them. I’ve been forced to read articles and clips online, everyday since Sunday’s 15-9 victory over the Falcons. I’m starving to see something about my Steelers, Dixon, Ward, the game, Roethlisberger, anything. After the post game conference that was the last spec of media coverage. I like to see what the hater’s have to say. I thought it was a nail biting game with highs and lows. Our rookies persevered through their mistakes, and our Veterans stepped-up to lead by example.
Yes, Dixon had an interception, but he finished the game passing 18/26, 236 yards. Not to mention, that he matriculated the offense down the field into field goal range at least four times, so we didn’t have punt the ball. It was good to see them play like the Steelers of old, with the run game. However, I think Arians could chill with the conservative play calling, unleash Dixon and let him do what he’s good at. I wonder if Arians got any play ideas after watching Vick in the Eagles game. Hines, my favorite go to man was there to work Sunday. Hines Ward never disappoints, he finished the game with 6 receptions for 108 yards. Troy Polamalu intercepted Matt Ryan. Mendenhall really came though in the end, not only did he have the game winning 50-yd touchdown in OT, but he had 22 carries and 120 yards. He was getting few yards all day, but in the end he broke through when it mattered!! All in all, it was a defensive game.
With all this you’d think I’d here about my Steelers in the media at some point over the week. I watched hours of ESPN, Sports Center, NFL Channel, and others. There were brief stories and clips, so brief that if you sneezed you’d missed it. It was a Black & Gold Media Black-out. I guess what I think is worth mentioning, they don’t. I’ll admit I am bias, of course I think the Steelers are the only team worth mentioning… what do you expect.
There was one story I hoped someone would hit on and have fun with, but know one did. That’s what did Ben do during the game. While on suspension for the four games, Ben is not allowed at the stadium. Here’s the Steelers’ version of “Where’s Waldo.”
Where Ben Spent Sunday (during the game)
1. At home watching “Girls Gone Wild” --- as if he hasn’t had enough drama from wild college girls.
- At the Bengal’s’ game heckling Carson Palmer.
- Home staring into the mirror repeating, “But, I’m Big Ben!”
- In church praying for job security.
- Having a heart to heart with his EGO
- Riding his motorcycle way too fast, with no helmet.
- Making Crop Circles of the Steelers’ logo on the Ravens’ field at M&T Bank Stadium
- Prank calling Ravens’ players, telling them their being traded.
Leave me some comments or feedback. Let me now what you though of Sunday’s game against the Falcons, what you’d like to see this Sunday against Tennessee (besides another Steelers win), or add to my where Ben may have been list.
