The Only Constant In Buffalo Is Change

…but sometimes change is good. There’s been so much happening at One Bills Drive, allow me to focus on the positive. Yup, I’m leaving the past behind.

Trent Edwards AKA Mr. Checkdown was released and picked up by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Who mad? Majority of Bill fans wanted him out last season. Chan Gailey has decided to roll with Fitzpatrick and after a great game (although they loss) against the Patriots, can you blame him? The game was actually watchable until the very end- when was the last time you could say that?

Congratulations to rookie CJ Spiller. He was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week. Spiller ran back a 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Woop, there it is!! A sign of what's to come.

Ralph Wilson opened up his checkbook and signed LB Chris Kelsay to a 4-year contract extension. The deal increased Kelsay's base salary by about $460K - from $3.7 million to $4.16 million - and that he will make a little more than $3.4 million for the remaining 14 weeks of the season. Kudos Mr. Wilson, we need his veteran guidance on the field and in the locker room.

Last but not least, on Friday, October 1, the Bills will turn Niagara Falls pink in honor of breast cancer awareness month. For five years the Bills have partnered with Komen and Kaleida to sponsor the Billieve breast cancer awareness program at Ralph Wilson Stadium. More details here.

On Sunday the NY Jets travel to Orchard Park to face the Buffalo Bills and keeping with my good news theme…here’s how I feel about it. Darrelle Revis will not play. Let’s go!!

The Bears Win: Brought to you by the letter P & I, and the number 18

The Packers and Bears entered Monday night’s football game with a record of 2-0. Pre-season many analysts had pegged the Packers to be the NFC champs and a Super bowl contender. Although there was no doubt that the Bears were capable of winning, most thought they would not be the team to come out 3-0. However, Monday nights game proved differently and showed that Green Bay has a long way to go and a lot of mistakes to correct if they want to live up to the expectations.

Linebacker Nick Barnett stated in a postgame interview,” We’re not Santa Claus. We’re not in the business of jumping down your chimney and letting you have a game.” COULDVE FOOLED ME! That’s exactly what it looked like from Shakeys in Carson where 100+ little league Packer fans and myself were watching.

Though I stand by my story that many of the penalties were suspect calls by the refs (roughing the passer call on LB Frank Zombo was BULLs#%@!), that still leaves about 11 very stupid, very irresponsible MENTAL mistakes and penalties made by the Packers on both sides on the ball.

    #FAILLIST:

    1. Mark Tauscher- Two offside penalties and a holding call which resulted in the calling back of TE Jermichael Finley’s touchdown.
    2. Mason Crosby’s kick is blocked, followed by a delay of game on the next Packer possession.
    3. Receiver James Jones fumbles the ball on the run after a short pass. This just after Rodgers causes a delay of game resulting in 10 loss yards and a loss down.
    4. The deal is sealed with only 2 minutes left in the game. A suspect P.I. call on rookie Morgan Burnett that definitely looked to me like an offensive P.I.
    5. Charles Woodson is a NON-FACTOR in this game! I had to keep checking to see if he was even on the field!!

Now for that glimmer of hope, I’ll put on my rose colored glasses, raise my half full (not half empty) glass and give a toast to the positives that can get the Pack back on track:

    1. AARON RODGERS-still looking good. More importantly he stayed of his back! O line gave him the protection he needs to stay of the record sacks list. He’s also running. He scored one touch down on the run and got a few first downs.

    1. BRANDON JACKSON-though the Packers running game is STRUGGLING to recover from the loss of starting RB Ryan Grant for the rest of the season, Brandon Jackson is looking like he is more than capable to feel Grant’s big shoes. He powered through on some big runs reminiscent of Dorsey Levens in the 90’s.

Next weeks game against the Lions should be a sure victory. Packers have beaten them 19 consecutive games but as we all know the saying…ON ANY GIVEN SUNDAY…the outcome may shock you…DOUBT IT! We’ll be 3-1 after next Sunday. GO PACKERS!!!

Raiders fans shocked by way of loss

Win Lose or Tie, I’m a Raiders till I die.

With that being said, I could have killed Janikowski. (Not too happy with false start on Henderson either)

I couldn’t believe that Janikowski missed THREE field goals, especially the one to win the game for Oakland. He NEVER misses and to miss at 30 some odd yards was a mysterious. The last time he missed a FG that short was a minute ago. We’re talking 2006, so yes; this was devastating for Raiders fans all over. While Coach Cable was right in saying “We had a lot of opportunities in the second half to kind of put some exclamation points out there” he knows just like I do, it comes times when kickers are put in those situations to win the game and he wasn’t money! It’s funny because the second FG he missed he looked at the holder as to say “what s your problem” I thought that was classic. I say OWN IT Jani, you did it!

Instead of a 3 way tie with the rest of the division, we should be second to the undefeated Chiefs (spits) at 2-1. This game was a win we should have got but just couldn’t pull off. Other than the penalties (11-123), the Raiders had more yards, the least amount of turnovers and controlled time of possession. For the first time this season, I felt the Raiders were on one accord. The offense was moving the ball, using the clock and keeping the defense off the field for the majority of the game. Not many 3 and outs. McFadden looked as if he had a brand new pair of legs out there and Heyward-Bey (even though he dropped a few catchable balls, delay of game and a P.I call that erased a wonderful catch by Murphy) showed signs of a young receiver that worked hard in the off season to come back and show people that he deserves to be here. More importantly the offensive line was on point. They allowed Gradkowski the time to complete 50% of his passes and that’s a start! Gradkowski looks at the field and isn’t wreck less with his passing. That combined with the speed and awareness of the skilled positions around him, it’s only a matter of time before we’re back on top!

The defense headed by veteran Richard Seymour and rookie Rolando McClain had a defensive rhythm that was music to my ears. They were all over the field and that lit a fire in the rest of the defensive players. Hurries, rushes and sacks, Beanie Wells and Derek Anderson were upset with the Raiders defensive line, I know. Oaklands defense had two costly P.I calls. One on Routt which should have been a no call as offensive Pass Interference was also committed. Nevertheless we fought through the penalties we received. Most were preventable and unnecessary so I hope that John Marshall gets on the team about that and they’ll play Houston with fewer false starts and pass interference calls. It’s time for us to get back to “Just win baby”

From the desk of the GG's Hospitality Hostess with the Mostess - MDSteelerGal....

...On the heels of the Titans loss to my favorite team (The Steelers, if you didn't know), I got the pleasure of visiting Nashville, Tennessee. There was a question I continually received up until the day before my visit. Why Tennessee? Well, I can totally understand the inquiry; however, I had the best reason ever to visit the city. My childhood best friend moved to Tennessee about 2 1/2 years ago. Her husband got a good job, it's a rather affordable city, and the calm lifestyle suits them.

Now, if you are looking to lose weight, you may want to visit another place because you will eat, and eat, and eat! Tennessee is famous for barbeque, you can find a spot on just about every corner; however, I found the dry rub ribs especially tasty. So, if you get a chance, go on over to Jim 'N Nick Bar-B-Q in Smyrna. If barbeque doesn't soothe your fancy, try their catfish, turnip greens or even wings. No matter what you decide, your taste buds will be happy!

Even though I try not to stereotype, our society has made it rather difficult not to do so. And, coming from the North, I'm not accustom to having those of the lighter hue cook such flavorful, tantalizing food - but, Sweet Tea Diner put a stop to all that. Meatloaf, Gravy, Greens, Fried Chicken, Cornbread and much more. All cooked by lil women that don't look like my grandma. Ha!

Moving right along... When looking for evening entertainment you will be happily surprised with a place called Bentley's in downtown Nashville. Live music all weekend, delicious drinks and eye candy all over the place! Nashville is totally not the country place many may think it is, so broaden your horizons and take a visit. I'm sure you will walk away with a different view, and even a desire to visit again.

According to the Twins: The REAL reason behind the Vince Young benching

Yvette: So 1 week later, news about the REAL reason Fisher benched Vince Young comes out.

Yvonne: In an article in the Tennessean, there was a small blurb stating that Young missed a meeting and/or arrived late to at least two meetings in week the Titans loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. According to the report, Young was not putting in enough prep work for Steelers' style, aggressive defense. This is what really led to coach Jeff Fisher benching him for veteran Kerry Collins

Yvette: Now this was what I thought Fisher’s rationale could have been, given Vince’s track record. And this would be a completely justified reason for benching VY.

Yvonne: Right, he wasn’t prepared and was lackadaisical, because of his great performance in Week 1. So benching him would be understandable.

Yvette: But still, I have several questions about the timing of this “leaked” version of the story.

Yvonne: Me too…It seems rather fishy, Fisher.

Yvette. Exactly! First off, why now? Why 1 week later? Why give this side of the story after a great performance by Vince Young and the Titans?

Yvonne: I agree, to me it seems as if this is a CYA situation…

Yvette: Fisher was being massacred on talk radio and blogs all week for prematurely and unfairly benching VY for the awful showing in Week 2. Maybe the sources felt the need to prepare for the inevitable questions?

Yvonne: I think that’s exactly the reason. Given his Week 1 and Week 3 work, one would have to question:
WHY would coach not allow Vince to take his lumps, work it out or possibly make one of his signature comebacks?
Given the fact that last season after Kerry Collins went 0-6, before VY saved them, why wouldn’t he let him be? All he is in 14-3 in his last 17 games.

Yvette: Right! Furthermore, Vince was EXCUSED by the team to attend a breakfast at the school of the late Steve McNair’s sons. If he was late getting back or missing a meeting, fine. And if he was ill-prepared for the upcoming game, OK. Why do you start him? “Sources” are saying Fisher was “covering” for VY.

Yvonne. To say, Fisher didn’t give the TRUE reason for the benching was to cover for VY is BS in my opinion. The act of benching him, was throwing him under the bus!

Yvette: If Vince has not matured enough to know that he can’t be late to meetings and too arrogant to know that he HAS to prepare for a team like the Steelers, and too DENSE to realize he was skating on thin ice, then he deserves to be benched. But for the Titans office to start a whisper campaign NOW, 1 week later, after a great win, seems extremely self-serving.

It’s Always Funny in Philadelphia: Eagles Make a Joke of the Jags!

OK, if you missed the last episode of As The Quarterback Turns, here’s what you miss. 2010 will be remember in Philadelphia football as the year of the quarterback. It started with what happened with our old quarterback, and then there was our new quarterback and now he’s not our new quarterback because we have a newer quarterback who is really an old quarterback that came to the team last year as a new quarterback but really isn’t a new quarterback at all and he came as a suggestion from our old quarterback who is now a new quarterback for one of our old rivals. With me?

As it turns out, Michael Vick is now the starting quarterback in Philadelphia after Coach Andy Reid emphatically insisted that Kevin Kolb is the starting quarterback and that he would start against the Jacksonville Jaguars. That was Monday. Well on Tuesday after the Detroit game and the phenomenal way that Vick played against the Lions, Reid flipped the script and put Mike in as the starting QB and put Kolb on second string. Whew! What a soap opera.

But here’s something you may not have heard. Reid could probably identify with Vick’s situation. He has two sons who got jail time and I can only imagine that he would want someone to do the same for them as he is doing with Vick by giving him a much deserved chance. And already his change is paying off.

So how about a little football to go with the drama?

Now that we know who the quarterback is...for now...we think...it’s time to stir up the season with some Vick-tories! And baby this team looks good: Jackson, Maclin, McCoy, Celek, Schmitt, Wells, Samuel, Tapp, Mikell, Cole, Allen, Bradley, Laws, Parker, Graham and of course Michael Vick. The Eagles came to Florida to play! Someone should have told DeSean that Jacksonville wasn’t named after him because he sure played like he owned the place! And a special shout out goes to Kevin Kolb whose enthusiasm on the sideline was contagious and showed how full of character and how team-focused he truly is.

Now it didn’t matter that it was a 90 degree day in J-ville because we got hot right away in the first half. Jackson and Vick, the new “IT” couple, connected for the first points on the board in the first quarter with a 61 yard touchdown. That set the tone for the game although the rest of the quarter was relatively lackluster. It seems there are a lot of snowbird Philadelphians in Jacksonville as their was a strong presence of Birdwatchers in the seats. A fan-made “Vickadelphia” banner hung from the stands in the Jaguars’ stadium as they cheered and sang the Eagles’ fight song to give us a taste of home-away-from-home field advantage. Regardless, we took advantage and made it our home! With only four seconds left in the half Vick routed one to Maclin in the end zone. SCORE!

Then the heat intensified in the third quarter following an Asante Samuel interception. Michael Vick and Jeremy Maclin didn't waste the Samuel's effort and connected again for 45 yards along the sideline to the end zone for 6 mo! Akers makes it 21-3. Then to max my Mike Vick fantasy points he runs it in to pick six for himself as we headed into the fourth quarter with the score of 28-3, thereby making it an official a** whooping. Number 7 has been playing hot! Three games and not one turnover. Eat your heart out Eli Manning.

It would be wrong if we forgot about our defending warriors. This week our defense stepped up and held the Jags to only 184 yards of total offense and 3 points. There were 6 sacks and 1 interception, a lot less missed tackles, and an intensity that matched what was happening on the other side of the ball. Rookie Nate Allen continues to make a mark at safety. And back from an injury in the Green Bay game, Stewart Bradley came to conquer making a huge difference at the middle linebacker position.

    Final Score: Eagles 28 - Jaguars 3

There was only one thing this past week that burst my football loving bubble. I was heartbroken when I saw this special female design football jersey online and couldn’t buy it. I vowed not to buy any clothes this year so that hurt. I saw my girlfriend Sarah in her blinged out Redskins jersey and had to have and Eagles’ one. Oh well, there is Christmas..hint, hint, hint.

Speaking of the Redskins, next week it’s return of the Mac. Donovan McNabb and the Washington Redskins set up reservations at the Linc for a Sunday afternoon stay. So the 2010 QB saga will continue and play out in front of America on national TV. After all it was part of Donovan’s push to have Michael Vick join the team. And there’s a lotta chatter here on just how will the the hometown crowd react to McNabb when he takes the field as an opponent wearing different feathers. That’s going to be one game that you don’t want to miss!

So I may sulk a little this week over the blinged out girl’s jersey, but that won’t last long because there is far too much to celebrate where it’s always Funny...in Philadelphia! And I’ll see you on the sidelines in my old jersey. (Sigh.)

An Expected Loss For the Bucs; Nonetheless It Still Hurts

Lots of Steelers fans were waving their Terrible Towels in Tampa, especially after the first touchdown pass from Charlie Batch to Mike Wallace. There was one defender right on Wallace and another one less than 10 feet away. How were they unable to prevent Wallace from catching that ball? They might as well have left the man wide open!

LeGarrette Blount, the rookie running back from Oregon, made his debut in week 3. Blount powered his way through on many of his plays; on six attempts, he ran for 27 yards and a touchdown. The Bucss should be using Blount more after the bye week assuming they don't have go with a lot of pass plays to catch up to an opponent.

I always get a knot in my stomach when Freeman throws the ball deep. In the first half, a Steeler almost intercepted Freeman's pass but he dropped the ball. Freeman ended up throwing an interception to defensive end Brett Keisel who returned it for a touchdown.

Bucs linebacker Quincy Black and cornerback Aqib Talib did each get an interception but the Bucs defense didn't disrupt the Steelers nearly the same way that the Steelers did the Bucs. Talib almost caught an interception while covering Mike Wallace in the end zone; however it bounced off his hands and into those of Mike Wallace for a touchdown. At that point I wanted to leave the bar where I was watching the game, but I had just put in my order and I had another hour remaining in the parking meter. The score at halftime was 28-6 Pittsburgh. With the game making me want to use profanity and wanting to get to Southern California before the evening game, I left right after the kickoff of the third quarter.

Tampa had the ball for 33:06 and Pittsburgh had it for 26:54; yet Pittsburgh were able to score 38 to Tampa's 13. A lot of Tampa's drives didn't get them into the end zone, just close enough for a field goal. At least the Bucs were able to score a touchdown on the Steelers; coming into the game, the Steelers had only allowed one touchdown this season.

    No Alibi!

Leadership has been heavily questioned for the Giants along with the lack of discipline and focus of the squad. After the exhibition against the Titans even I was dazed! The game didn’t truly escape us until we went into the end of the 3rd quarter. Yes, even with the early turnovers and the penalties mounting my Giants still had an opportunity to pull through…but didn’t. Manning had early interceptions in the first quarter, but we were still able to make key plays and enter the half tied 10-10. I send kudos to our defense for containing Chris Johnson in the first half! It was invigorating to see the sea of blue jerseys zoning in on him! Then we started the second half and couldn’t get the rhythm we needed offensively and our hold defensively started slipping resulting in a 10-29 loss.

So let’s recap, at the end of four quarters we had 11 penalties totaling 85 yards, 2 missed field goals, horrible plays by special teams, three turnovers, a “rhythm less “offense, and were 25% efficient in the red zone! The word after the game and locker room interviews is that players are taking ownership in the locker room for the shortcomings. I am so glad to hear that! But like I tell the 9year olds I teach, taking ownership for falling short means nothing until you step up and do better. Our weaknesses are being exposed so plainly even a blind man could see it! Now that we’ve stopped complaining to the media, let’s stop SAYING all the right things, and start DOING all the right things to improve it! Truth be told defense looked better, offense has yet to impress me, there are some sparks, but no lasting impression! We make key plays but aren’t converting them to needed points! I need the offense of last season to pair up with the developing defense of this season and show up at the same game ready to play. As for special teams…what can I say? I’m speechless; I have no speech, ab-so-lute-ly speechless! One thing I’ve learned in life is if you accept the praise in times of victory, you have got to accept the criticism in times of defeat. To be defeated by a better opponent is one thing but to aid in your own downfall is totally something else! Regardless of the score, I still BLEED BLUE but I’m very interested in what the organization is going to do. Right now insanity is occurring, we’re doing the same things and expecting different results, and for this G-men there is NO ALIBI!!!

    Fireman Ed Don't Play That

Ahh, Fireman Ed. Staple at Jets games, beloved by both players and (Jet) fans alike. Giant fans? Not so much. As it turns out, an incident he had with an apparently drunken Giant fan may have him in some hot water of his own.

He could face charges stemming from the August 16th incident, made popular on YouTube. A Giant fan, we now know as Christopher Black was clearly looking to interrupt his J-E-T-S chant after a touchdown. Fireman Ed pushed the guy out of the way and proceeded as usual. Luckily, another fan is going to pay Fireman Ed's attorney fees, as he probably saw what I did when I saw the video-some drunken yutz looking for attention.

The stadium clearly sided with Ed, throwing the bum out and banning him from the building. I guess that's why he's trying to press charges? Because somehow starting something he couldn't finish wasn't nearly enough? Okay.

He asked for it. Way to go for being a loser at life in general.

Let’s Hear It For The Defense !!

    Steelers TitansSteelers Titans

It sure is good to see our defense step-up and go back to playing football like they used to. In the game against the Titans the defense did their job and then some. The defense put an end to Chris Johnson’s 100+ yards rushing streak, 2 games away from breaking the league record of 14. The Steelers’ defense held him to only 34 yards. The defense practically suffocated Vince Young, to the point he was benched. However, I did read that James Harrison was fined 5K for slamming Vine Young. I must say I thought it was a little much, I just knew Vince was hurt after that slam. The defense forced 7 turnovers by the end of the game, completely suffocating the Titans’ offense. The Steelers’ Defense was ranked at #5, in week 3 of ESPN’s power ranking. At 2-0 (thanks to the defense) we are 1st in the AFC North, and CBS sports had our defense ranked at #4. Everyone thought we couldn’t win without Ben, they had forgotten that Dick Lebeau is out defensive coordinator.

    Steelers Titans

Now that Dixon will be having surgery on the knee he injured, Tomlin has decided to start Charlie Batch against Tampa Bay. In week 4, I’d like to see the offense take the lead. That maybe difficult with Charlie Batch as starting QB. Batch, unfortunately, has a 45.5% completion rate, and his QB rating is 52.5%. With that said, we have a 50/50 chance with Batch, so we’ll need the receivers and RBs to be prepared to go the distance and get us a win on Sunday. The defense can’t do it all by themselves, and they shouldn’t have to. The offense hasn’t been too productively lately, so they need to wake up! I’m usually confident that we’ll win, and I have to by honest, I’m a little nervous now that we are down to starting Charlie Batch. He’s the only healthy QB that’s not suspended, so I guess we have to start him. I won’t be surprised to see Byron Leftwich return during the game. I’ll send up a few prayers to get them all back to healthy and ready to play.

    Steelers Titans

I just hope that I’ll be able to see the game. Last Sunday the Ravens played at 1:00pm EST, also; and since I live in Ravens –country the Steelers’ game didn’t aired. I hope I don’t have to listen to Steelers’ radio again…. Come on Sunday, I’ll be sheering on our defense and praying that our QB gets the job done.

The best MNF game so far this season

Monday Night Football was great. The game was full of excitement until the very end. The Niners showed up and made up for that pitiful game last week.

There were miscues on the offensive side of the ball that prevented us from winning the game. Baas, the backup center, snapped the ball over Smith's head early in the first quarter and Smith smartly knocked it outof the end zone for a safety. Smith also threw 2 INTs which hurt the on-field progress. Walker fumbling the ball at the 3 just before halftime killed a scoring drive that could have given us the lead going into halftime.

Gore was a force running the ball, finishing with 112 yards on 20 carries. He also scored two TDs, one receiving, giving his fantasyowners good points for the week. Davis made the catch of the night, securing the two point conversion to tie the game. The chemistry that was lacking last week was there this week.

Coach Singletary made me realize why I love him as a coach. He has a passion for the game that cannot be described. Did you see him run out on the field before the two minute warning at the end of the game? He was gonna make sure the refs saw him call the time out.

This game is a moral victory for the Niners. I did not expect them to win the game, although I hoped that they did. They were playing the Super Bowl champs. I just wanted the game to be competitive and for them to look better than last week. They did that and almost won the game by partially blocking the field goal with no time on the clock. Looking for a win next week against the Chiefs. (2-0??? Really???) We cannot afford to lose three games in a row to start the season. This team is better than that.

Is Joe Flacco Missing The "It" Factor?

I thought this was the year. The Year of the Raven. The Year of Joe Flacco AKA Joe Cool. I thought we would see #5 blossom into a true leader of the Ravens offense, one that we haven't seen since we inherited Vinny Testaverde when the Ravens came to town in 1996. I thought this was it! No more worries at the QB position because we are set!

    But was I wrong???

Through 2 weeks, The Ravens have the worst turnover ratio in the league, thanks to Flacco's 6 TOs. His anemic 41.2 QB rating is the worst of all starting QBs. So what gives???

Clearly this isn't the Joe Flacco we've seen in 2008 and 2009. When Flacco first started his career, he started it with a bang, having won 11 games and making the Top 5 list for a rookie completion %. It was, what we Ravens fans thought, a peek of what was more to come. A QB who can make plays, but manage the game while the defense, once again, prevails.

In 2009, Flacco started off hot, but declined as the season went along, due to injuries. While the Ravens beat the Patriots during the Wild Card weekend last season, Flacco had very little to do with the victory.

So here it is, 2010. Add Anquan Boldin, TJ Houshmandzedah and 2 rookie TEs that can make this offense complete. Yet no results. He's missed open targets, he's aiming at his receivers instead of throwing at them, he's been throwing off his back foot instead of stepping into the pocket, and he's staring his men down longer than fat kid in a bakery. To make it simple, Joe Cool looks lost out there.

Is Flacco missing the "It" factor in being a QB? Some say he is. But I beg to differ. Does he have "It" right now? Hell no, he's way off from where I think he should be. But that doesn't mean he can't get there. Flacco played a tough Jets defense in Week 1, got ROCKED on the first play of scrimmage, then had to turn around to play the Bengals in Cincy 6 days later, a team that has given Flacco a fit in recent memory. While Flacco hasn't helped his team much with his erratic play, let's not forget about the dropped passes, receivers that can't get open and shady pass blocking. Is Flacco to blame? Absolutely, but he's had help in the process.

The Ravens play Cleveland this weekend. This is a good opportunity in trying to find a rhythm with his new targets. The verdict is still out on whether Flacco has, "It". But I'm hoping he proves me right, and "It" shows up soon.

The Twins say ‘Fisher’s benching of Vince Young was a bad move’

Yvette: I know many people have weighed in on the Vince Young benching. Yvonne and I have gone back and forth since Sunday's game trying to make sense of it.

Yvonne: Last Sunday against the Raiders, Vince Young performed beautifully. He received praises all around from Hemandinger and Jeff Fisher for his preparation. They praised his decision making. All was grand in Titan Land.
Fast forward to Sunday; Vince Young is riding the bench.

Yvette: I have great respect for Coach Fisher and given VY’s track record, my first thought was he either displayed a poor attitude during practice this week, didn’t give his all in preparing for the Steelers, or mouthed-off or quit on the sidelines at the game on Sunday.

Yvonne: Either way, Fisher benching Young was a bad decision.
It makes Fisher look as if he made a “No Confidence” vote against Vince Young. Given their history and all they had gone through, it seems he would be more cautious in handling VY. Now, the firestorm of questions will cause an unneeded distraction to Vince and maybe the team.

Yvette: Many Quarterbacks in the league had bad games, against less quality opponents than the Pittsburgh Steelers. While praising the promise and improvements with his fantastic Week 1 performance, then follow it up with a benching a week later is not only an overreaction, it is very unfair to Vince, after Week 2. It took 6 straight losses before Fisher Benched Kerry Collins in favor of Vince Young! And the in the last 11 games afterwards VY was 9-2. I believe he in essence saved Jeff Fishers’ job.

Yvonne: Very true. This could very well cause unneeded dissention in the team. With a team that is already projected to go no more than 8-8, its really not a good move to have anything that will cause Vince team mates to pick sides. If he performs badly (which even the best ones do from time to time), will they stand united with Vince, or will they grumble about needing a new QB? This would be an unfortunate backlash for a team that has the potential to over achieve.

Yvette: Having my boss looking over my shoulder in the office, doesn’t make me do my job well. It annoys me, makes me nervous and makes me feel like you don’t believe I know what I’m doing.
This could have the same affect on Vince and his psyche. It could hurt Vince’s confidence. He did well Week 1 against the Raiders. It would be a shame if he regressed because of this.

Yvonne: This week will be a test on Vince’s fortitude and his maturity. According to Fisher, Young will remain the starter for the Titans.
Yvette: This game against the Giants, in a big media market will be a great gauge on how this season is going to go. If he can put last Sunday behind him, this will bode well for VY and his 2010 campaign.

    Housewarming

Ahh yes, I'm still soaking this one in. The Jets won. Against New England. At home. Again.

This probably doesn't seem like much to celebrate to the casual observer, but over the past ten seasons before Sexy Rexy entered the building, the Jets won a whopping four games at home vs. New England.

Definitely took the sting off of the opening night loss, and probably made for a great (although not cell phone friendly) time at the new house.

The Jets played well. Holding New England to zero points in the second half, while reeling off three of their own, a two point conversion, and two field goals.

I have to admit when they kicked the one at the end of the first half, I didn't think things would end well. They really turned it on though, and I was super impressed with how Mark Sanchez and the rest of the offense played. After managing to muster only six first downs against the Ravens last week, they got 23 on Sunday. Sanchez looked more like a Sanchize than he has his entire career. He went for career highs in passing and touchdowns, finishing 21/30 with 220 yards and 3 touchdowns, hitting Edwards, Keller and Cotchery for the scores. The running game showed up too-LT and Shonn Greene combined for a total of 128 rushing yards.

It wouldn't be the Jets without some sore spots though now would it? At different points in the game Jason Taylor, Nick Mangold and Darrelle Revis left the game with injuries. Revis did not return, but also didn't make much of a case for his new contract while he was in the game, especially after being burned (and hurt) on a one handed catch for a touchdown by Randy Moss.

After his exit, Antonio Cromartie slid into his spot, and held the guy to zero catches and got an interception. My favorite defensive play? The Brady sack that ended up resulting in a lost fumble.

This was a great win for the Jets, especially heading into Miami for their annual dustup. Revis and Edwards won't be playing, but there is a great incentive for the other guys to step up and keep the ball rolling. Am I a happy camper this week? Yes! Now let's go have a GD snack!

Week Two Review – Texans vs. Redskins

The Redskins played the Houston Texans on Sunday, and it was quite a game.

    Tani and Chantel

My daughter (on the left) and her college roommate came all the way from North Carolina for the game, just to go from ‘all smiles’ to ‘nobody talk to me’. Although we didn’t come away with a victory, it was a very entertaining game. When the Redskins lose a game, my whole week is pretty scrambled. I mean…my ability to think straight is reduced, my tolerance for (all) people decreases, even my fabulous sense of humor suffers…and we all know aint nuthin’ funny ‘bout that!

Here, Vee, Mamma Portis and I smile before the game.

    Clinton Portis mom,Clinton Portis mom

We had to smile before the game, because it was only shock and disbelief on our faces as the game slowly (but surely) slipped away. The Redskins had several opportunities to win the game…clearly not enough. For every good Redskins statistics, the Texans had a better stat. Check out these game day stats:

    • The Redskins scored on their first three possessions. (First time doing that since 2003.)
    • The Texans scored the last four scoring drives. (We got tired from all that early scoring.)
    • The Texans had 5 penalties for 45 yards. (Cool, that’s almost half the field.)
    • The Redskins had 7 penalties for 58 yards. (Damn, that is more than half the field.)
    • The Redskins had a 17 point lead, with 5:31 left in the 3rd Quarter. (Yeah Baby!!)
    • This brings me back to the last four Texans scoring drives! (20 unanswered points. Ugh!!)
    • The Redskins Defense had 1 INT and 5 sacks!! (Defense!! Defense!!)
    • The Redskins had 1 INT and 5 sacks, but Schaub still passed for 497 yards. (This guy!!)
    • The Redskins Offense racked up 421 net yards. (Offense!! Offense!!)
    • The Texans Defense held our rushing game to 17 attempts for 18 yards. (Wait…what??)
    • The Texans Kicker, Rackers, missed a 47 yard FG...it was wide right. (Hee-hee!!)
    • The Redskins Kicker, Gano, missed a 52 yard FG...it was wide right. (NO fair!! He made the 1st one!!)
    • The Redskins lost the coin toss in overtime, but stopped the Texans. (Our turn for the ball, Baby!!)
    • The Redskins lost the coin toss, stopped the Texans but couldn’t score. (Their turn for the ball!!)
    • The Redskins had five scoring drives resulting in 3 Touchdowns and 2 FGs.
    • The Texans had six scoring drives resulting in 3 Touchdowns and 3 heartbreaking FGs.

I have to admit; the Texans played the entire game and never gave up. The Redskins need to learn to stop letting leads slip away. The entire state of Texas had to be glad to see the Texans start the season 2-0, especially against the Redskins. However, I will cheer with half of the state in wishing the Texans go on to achieve a 3-0 start next week. (They play the Cowboys!!)

    Toasted …and served

Four years ago Peyton and Eli matched up for the NFL’s version of a civil war. Manning v/s Manning, a family divided for one night in a good old fashioned NFL showdown! Even though back then the Colts came out on top 26-21, I was excited for the Manning Bowl to kick off Sunday night! I knew this would be the game to truly test our offense and defense. When the Colts marched down the field 84 yards in the first quarter and Brown walked in, yes walked in untouched, for a touchdown, I knew it was going to be a long night.

Now, no way in the world did I think this game against the four time league MVP would be a walk in the park. I was just looking forward to some hard hitting football on both sides of the field. The Colts showed up ready to play, my Giants…*deep sigh* did not. We couldn’t get our running or passing game off the ground, but the Colts on the other hand had a great night running and passing against our defense. Our defense couldn’t get to Peyton, except on one play by Kiwanuka, but Eli was sacked a total of four times by Freeney and Mathis. He was also rushed and roughed up all night! Side note: Freeney is a “freakin” beast! Not to mention two turnovers which resulted in touchdowns for Indy, matched along with their hurry up offense left my defense bewildered and lethargic! Let’s also not forget to add in some sloppy tackling on defense and on the other side of the ball our porous offensive line.

On a brighter note, We did have the Manning to Manningham touchdown in the beginning of the third quarter. Did I mention we got shut out in the first half, well we did. The only other touchdown was a connection from Manning to Nicks with 1:46 left on the clock. I had and will always have the upmost respect for Peyton Manning, so Sunday night’s lost I saw more as a lesson for my squad to see what areas needed to be improved…all! Different versions of the G-men seem to show up for each opponent, CONSISTENCY is the key to life and to winning games. So I’ll admit we got toasted and served by the Colts. Big brother Peyton and his squad taught his little brother Eli and my G-men a lesson. The question is how well was it learned. We will soon see in week 3.

    Eagles Soar Over Motown!!!

It didn’t take me long to get back into the familiarity of my Football Sunday routine. It’s an all day affair for me and by 12 noon I have to be front and center of the 52 inch window into my football world to catch the Fox pregame show since I’m an NFC girl. The Eagles had the early game so I could check out Jimmy, Terry, Howie, Michael and Curt and then roll right into the Philadelphia versus Detroit game. No doubt, we were definitely one of the games to watch with Michael Vick making his first NFL start since 2006. Ironically, his last start four years ago was against the Eagles as Atlanta’s quarterback.

Philadelphia is rarely a quiet place and NEVER quiet when it comes to sports. The talk of the town was the status of the starting quarterback. And no, I’m not talking about for Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions; I mean for the season. Coach Andy Reid says undoubtedly it’s Kevin Kolb. Fans, however want victories. And after what happened at Ford Field with Mike Vick on the turf, it only made fans scream their desires even louder.

There was no time wasted getting on the board. The Eagles scored on the very first possession with a little help from the Lions’ defense who picked up a few penalties and aided our efforts. Vick threw to DeSean Jackson for the first six followed by David Akers who put the cherry on top making it 7-0 after our first touch of the ball. But then our defense gave Lions’ rookie running back Javed Best a free hall pass to run all over the field. Detroit answered with seven on their second possession and they didn’t back down for the rest of the first half. Best was by far their best! Plenty of fantasy team owners with Javed on their roster were elated and dominated the fantasy points picture after his great performance. But LeSean gave me plenty points as well!

Like last week we had to break out the band-aids. Injuries continued to trample our team. Left tackle Jason Peters got hurt several times but his resilience brought him back in the game each time he went down. And although the roar of the Lions’ defense did their best to sideline Michael Vick, he played with an old school toughness than made you wonder just how we was able to get back up on his feet and go another round! Much like last week as well we had our fair share of penalties. Even though it’s my favorite color, let’s shoot for less yellow next game guys.

There’s no question about what will be most remembered from Week 2 and it is Number 7! Michael Vick was most definitely the star of the show. LeSean McCoy had an incredible game with 3 touchdowns and over 100 yards rushing, but Vick was dazzling! He showed diversity, quickness, toughness, and skill beyond belief. Whether he was beaming a pass to Jackson or Jeremy Maclin for a touchdown or spinning out of a sack to pick up a few yards, like art in motion it was amazing to watch him perform! It was one of those games where you wouldn’t even think about going to get more snacks when the Eagles were on offense because you had to be there to drink in every single play!

Don’t get me wrong, there were trying moments as well. To add anxiety flavored sauce to the game our defense relaxed a bit too much in the fourth quarter allowing the Detroit offense to get comfy with the idea of a come-from-behind-win like Houston pulled on Washington. Thank goodness we prevailed. Our defense made a big difference during a few moments of the game. Trent Cole netted three sacks and Ellis Hobbs snatched the pick of the two interceptions. Rookie Nate Allen snagged the other to help reward us with our first W of the 2010 season.

    Final score: Eagles 35 - Lions 32!

Next Sunday Kevin Kolb is back as the starting quarterback against the Jacksonville Jaguars who got embarrassed by Denver this week. If I’m Kolb I’m hoping, praying, and begging the offensive line to do a better job protecting the backfield next week than they did this week. He’s not known to scramble like Michael Vick and that could make all the difference in his being able to prove what he’s made of. This will be our second meeting with the Jags after we edged them in a pregame meeting. And I fully expect a déjà vu.

I do know this! It feels good to win. And I see another one in our immediate future. So I guess I’ll see you on the sidelines in the sunshine state!

Gradkowski Gets One for the Raiders

Coming off a terrible loss to the Titans, I expected the Raiders to come in a team that had studied film and made changes to their game plan. After all, we did get rid of half of what the problem was…or so we thought. The win against the Rams was going to be a piece of cake...or so we thought. Whoever thought that, thought wrong. This week the Oakland Raiders got off to another bad start with Campbell as the starting QB. As I watched the first quarter, I couldn’t help but criticize the offensive line for failing to protect Jason Campbell. It was too easy for the Rams to get into the backfield. However, that was my thinking for only the first couple of series. (and in NO way am I letting the O-Line slide for those sacks/hurries on our QB) I noticed that Campbell was just having a hard time moving the ball and against the Rams and that shouldn’t have been a problem. The Rams have no lockdown corners and Oakland has 2 young and thriving Wide Receivers in DHB and Louis Murphy with great speed and ability to make plays. Almost being able to guarantee a solid performance from Zach Miller each week, there is no reason for the way the first half was played. Campbell just couldn’t establish a good rhythm. With the fumbles and sacks in addition to our penalties, they didn’t look good the first half offensively. Steven Jackson was unstoppable the first 2 quarters taking off lots of the pressures Bradford faced as a rookie QB, things we should have capitalized on. Nevertheless, the Silver and Black welcomed the young Sam with a few sacks of our own. No matter how well the defense plays if the offense can’t eat up the clock, drive down the field and score, the defense is working hard for nothing, and our defense was working hard. I couldn’t believe that this was the performance we were getting from Campbell. Given the way Washington just got rid of him one would think he was ready to prove to them that they made a mistake and especially with the way he looked in preseason.

STOP right there. I know the saying -If the Raiders do well in the preseason…blah blah blah.

We looked a lot better as the second half got underway with Bruce Gradkowski as the QB. I was surprised YET happy that Cable decided to pull Campbell and see what Bruce would be able to do. What would it hurt? We were already down 7-3 and unable to get in the end-zone. The Raiders fans are no strangers to what Gradkowski can do. He came in last year behind Russell and brought energy and leadership to the field. Not to mention wins! The wins last year against the Bengals and Steelers were huge and proved that the Raiders could win given the right tools and leadership. He did that yesterday as well. He stepped on that field and commanded it. In my opinion Campbell and Gradkoswki should compete for the starting spot Sunday, it should not be given back to Campbell easily. Bruce should have had the starting QB job last year, his resume speaks for itself. Injury or not, this year he should have been his too. He gets in and gets the job done. Same offensive line that was blocking for Campbell blocked for Bruce and somehow Gradkowski had the time to avoid being sacked, find an open man and make a good play. He got in the game bringing some momentum and completed his first few passes that set up a field goal by Janikowski. It must have carried over because the defense shut the Rams down with a quick 3 and out. Heyward-Bey, who looked like a potential overpaid draft bust last year continued to make plays for his team. Murphy caught a TD pass, following that 3 and out by STL. The team was now on the same page. We were making plays. The Raiders defense adjusted and kept the activity of Steven Jackson to a minimum forcing Bradford to throw the ball to his receivers. Although Bradford hit Clayton for two TDs, Nnamdi and Routt covered the ST Louis WR well. The Raiders held STL to win 16-14. Let’s see if we can continue to “Just Win Baby”

Paging Giants Football! Paging Giants Football! You are needed in the game!!

We looked like a smacked ass out there. The offensive line is terrible. The running suffers because of that…Bradshaw couldn’t find a hole in a donut at this point. The defense is still vulnerable. There is no clear leader of this team, they appear to be just a bunch of individuals who show up for work and expect to make some magic happen, with zero enthusiasm. I don’t think the Giants gave up, but they failed to make any adjustments once it was obvious their game plan did not work. That reflects poorly on the coaching staff.

I guess when I think about it I can understand the game plan the Giants set out to have, offensively they were gonna pass and pass often, it sounds about right seeing as our Oline isn’t really giving anyone room to run, unless Bradshaw wants to run right up Diehls ass he isn’t running anywhere. However, we were clearly outmatched and Eli had about 1 second to get rid of the ball before he was going to be eating dirt. Defensively, you are going against the Colts; they are going to be passing all night, stop the pass because we all know the Colts aren’t a running team, right? Right? WRONG! Man they ran the ball down our throats, they ran and ran well. Didn’t expect that, but I can see how that was the game plan. But Peyton Manning read through our defense like it was a Dr Seuss book. We were clearly outmatched, but at that point why do we fail to make adjustments?

For all I know David Diehl is still standing in Lucas Oil stadium with his pads on. Why even put him in front of Freeney? What was the point? Should’ve let Diehl sit down and drink ensure - and at what point does Andrews get his turn? And Kareem McKenzie, dude you couldn’t block me at this point. You two losers are tryna get Eli KILLED. We are lucky he escaped without injury.

There is so much wrong with this whole situation. The Giants are being outcoached and outplayed there is plenty of blame to go around. And let me just say this - yes its Week 2…and only week 2 but I have this terrible feeling that Week 2 turns into Week 3 into Week 4 of Tom Coughlin standing on the sidelines with that lost look in his eyes like he has no idea how this happened. The Giants organization as a whole has issues with being loyal to guys who are no longer of any use. I don’t care if they helped win the Super Bowl 3 years ago, they aren’t going to miraculously become young and fresh again. LET IT GO! This includes the coaching staff!

Mr. Fewell – Not very impressed thus far. Pull it together!

Mr. Jacobs – you are having a meltdown. You are twinkle toes anymore. You haven’t had a 100 yard rushing game since 2008 and you sir have the nerve to be mad at what? SIT THE HELL DOWN!!!!

Michael Johnson – You get this years CC Brown award so far…

Aaron Ross – You can’t stay healthy and when you do play you get burned..you are looking like a waste of a draft pick as far as I can see.

I hope we pull it together, but in a loss like this where it wasn’t just one specific area, the team collectively sucked as a whole – I am doubtful. I am not panicking, but I am doubtful. Because as we know the Giants never make the changes needed in a timely fashion. That being said..Giants ya’ll can kiss my round behind today…But I’m still bleeding blue.

    Ryan

Vikings Home opener loss, Dolphins 14 Vikings 10

As much as it pains me to say, Brett Favre had his game as Viking. Throwing 3 interceptions & losing a fumble is way too much for a Gridiron Gal like me.

Favre was 19 of 28 for 197 Yards. Brett Lorenzo Favre what am I going to do with you? 4 turnovers, and last season at home you had Only 2 for the entire season! Not cool Brett, not cool. 2 of Favre's interceptions were at the Miami goal line, 1 a tipped football and the other was from Bernard Berrian who seemed to me to have been poor miscommunication.

Bad Play calling from coach Childress all game, and how I solve my problems is real simple, "I get rid of them", so FIRE Childress now. I know its early, early enough to get a new coach in and let's regroup and get some W's under our belt.

Adrian Peterson did not "beast" the way I had anticipated especially for the sake of my Fantasy Football league. Adrian rushed for 145 yards & had 1 TD, but failed big time on 4th & goal from the 1-yard line and a fumble. Favre attempted to pass at the end of the 4th to Visanthe Shiancoe on 4th down & it was incomplete.

Miami's Chad Henne completed a 5-yard pass to Brian Hartline & Cameron Wake sacked old man Favre in the end zone, while linebacker Koa Misi recovered Favre's fumble for Miami's 2nd TD to keep Miami undefeated with 2-0, both wins were won on the road.

The Dolphins 14-10 victory over the Vikings has made me really antsy going into The Vikes next game against the Detroit Lions. We need a WIN, a bye awaits us right after next weeks Lions game so I would prefer to go on a break with momentum & in great spirits, definitely not with another lost. Vikings are officially 0-2, but we can be victorious. SKOL Vikings Skol!

Week Two – Texans vs. Redskins

The Redskins are playing the Houston Texans on Sunday. Since the Texans joined the NFL in 2002, these two teams have only matched-up twice. The first game was in Week 16 of the 2002 season; the Redskins killed the Texans 26-10 at FedEx Field. (Slightly Smiles!!) The second game was in Week 3 of the 2006 Season; the Redskins whipped the Texans 31-15 at Reliant Stadium. (Wide smile & Chuckles!!) Despite these two mere encounters, some of the personnel on both teams are very familiar with each other. Ten of the coaches that will be on the sidelines on Sunday are former members of the Denver Broncos coaching staff; actually the Texans now have two Coordinators and three Assistants who worked under Mike Shanahan in Denver. The clincher is that Houston’s Head Coach, Gary Kubiak, played…er ah, was on the team…(wispers…bench rider) for the Denver Broncos from 1983 to 1991, while our beloved Head Coach, Mike Shanahan, was a coach (in some capacity) for the Denver Broncos for 20 of the last 26 years. Wow!!! This game may have a real ‘Gunslinger’ feel to it.

Wait… enough about good ole times with the Denver Broncos. There will be no John Elway there…we have McNabb. There will be no Champ Baily there…we have Clinton Portis. Do you remember that trade? (Covers mouth & Snickers!!) After all, this is a Redskins game. And we are in DC!! None other than FedEx Field…home of the Washington Redskins. It is also the home to Chuck Brown, the God-Father of Go-Go. As a matter of fact, he is the scheduled halftime performer for Sunday’s game. Just like all audience members’ plea to Chuck at his shows…Wind me up Chuck!! Meanwhile, I am already wound up. The Redskins need to pickup things right where they left off last week as we cleaned the clock of that other Texas team. (Full blown laughter!!) Just in case you need me to Back It on Up, I will remind you… that game was decided in the last 3 seconds!! Favorable for the ‘Skins, may I add. After that climactic finish, we continued to party in the parking lot. It was almost midnight, but no one cared. Daylight could have come, but we didn’t want to go home. On Sunday, as a faithful football screamer, I not only plan on screaming, but I intend to yell, cheer, shout, & Coo. You know…Coo. We aren’t yelling Boo, we are yelling Coooooley!!) I am proud to be that 12th Man that the Redskins rely on. The atmosphere of the place will have a Go-Go Swing to it as our defense orders another Stormy Monday for their opponent. (Holds stomach, doubles over & chackles!!)

On the other hand, we Redskins fans cannot get too excited about our prior performances against the Texans, because that was in the past. In fact, most Redskins fans don’t know what to make of the Texans this week other than the fact that they beat the Colts last Sunday. Oh wait…we do know a lot about them, or at least Kyle Shanahan, Mike’s handsome son, does. (Giggles!!) His job last year was with the Texans. (Points at team and laughs a Dr. Evil laugh!!) The games cannot get here fast enough, but first I have a few questions:

    · Do You Know What Time It Is? - Its 4:15pm, late game action.

    · Anyone want to bet on this game? - I Need Some Money!!

    · The prior relationships and our 2- 0 records means? It Don’t Mean a Thing!!

    · What shall I do immediately after the victory? – Get Your Freak On!!

    · Why? Because We came to Party!!

According to the Twins: Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Tennessee Titans Overview

Yvette: When these former AFC Central division rivals get together, it's always good!

Yvonne: Yes, Hard hitting, sometimes low scoring, but never boring. Love it!

Yvette: They always seem so evenly matched. But in the Jeff Fisher era they are 12-8 against the Steelers.

Did you know that? You probably didn't since the games are always so tight.
Also Vince Young has never faced the Steelers in his career! I didn
    t know that!

Yvonne: I think this may be a good thing for Titans. Word is, Vince has been studying hard,

preparing for the visiting Steelers. A studied, prepared VY could be dangerous.

Titans’ offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger seems to be really confident in VY and his ability

Yvette: I believe it will be more of the same. A defense-ladened game.

    Yvonne: My kind of game.

Yvette: Last week the Titans faced the Raiders and found a weakness in their D-line. They exposed the weakness and Chris Johnson was able to get some good runs.

Yvonne: Not to mention their focus on Chris Johnson allowed Vince Young to get some rushing yards, and gave him time to throw. VY’s passes were efficient, and down-right beautiful to watch.

Yvette: This won’t be the case this week. The Steelers ARE NOT the Raiders.

The Steelers Defensive Line, are MONSTERS and it the Titans will be hard pressed to find any holes they can take advantage of. So Chris Johnson will not have a big day.

Yvonne: And the Titans are not the Falcons.

Granted, Steelers managed to get a W in Week 1. However, Atlanta was able to hold them to field goals for 4 quarters. That does not bode well for the Steelers, they will have to do better than that against Tennessee. Titans have a stout defense, and they have too many offensive weapons.

Yvette: Both offenses will definitely depend on Quarterback play of Dennis Dixon and Vince Young. Dixon will make short yardage passes and continue relying on Hines Ward.

Yvonne: Definitely. Steelers may start to miss Big Ben after this game. Dixon was adequate against the Atlanta defensive. However, adequate (short yardage passes) will not be enough to challenge the Titans defense. The question is, will the Steelers Defense be able to stifle both Vince Young and Chris Johnson?

Yvette: If the Titans secondary is really new and improved that they showed last week, they can contend with Ward. However, that remains to be seen. This game will come down to which QB will make the fewest mistakes.
Therefore, I give the upper hand to the Titans.

Yvonne: I’m going with the Titans as well. Both teams will be heavily reliant upon their air game. And if it comes down to Titans’ long ball versus Steelers’ short ball, then I’m going with the Titans.

Yvette: On another note: Chris Johnson’s dreds look better. Still not great, but that short unruly one in the front has been addressed J Thank you, CJJ
